Welcome to The Secret Place Of Prayer

With much prayer and reflection, I have decided to post a portion of my first book, "His Name Is Jesus," weekly. My goal is to bring Jesus to as many as I can through my life experiences. God has blessed me greatly through this book. I have met new people and developed beautiful friendships, but most importantly, I have grown so much closer to God through writing than I ever dreamed possible. Welcome to the place where God highlights the moments of life that so often go unseen. The Secret Place is the place of prayer where the cord of grace shimmers through time and space. I pray you journey along with me and immerse yourself in the life changing world of prayer. I pray you let the words of these devotions, that God has taught me to pen through prayer, ignite your heart to fully devote your life to God. I pray you find a closer walk with Jesus in the weeks ahead as I have found in writing these books.

"His Name Is Jesus" is dedicated to my nephew, Ajay Michael Stiles. Ajay went home to be with the Lord, at just 17 years old, shortly before this book was published. I struggled so much with finding the words to say to honor this wonderful young man. Ajay was more special than words can truly express, but with God's help, the following came to life:

I dedicate this book to my nephew, 

Ajay Michael Stiles. 

Ajay had something so special inside of him. He had a beautiful song that came from his soul. When Ajay would sing you could feel heaven flowing through him as he lifted our Redeemer's name in praise. 

Heaven’s song was surely heard as Ajay sang of the “Only One” who gives everlasting grace. Heaven’s song was heard as a melody sung from Ajay’s heart of God’s wonderworking power. Heaven’s song was Ajay’s refuge and his firm foundation in the middle of every storm. Heaven’s song stood in the face of the enemy and fought for Ajay all of his life.  Heaven’s song is Ajay’s Redeemer and He is standing at the right hand of God. Heaven’s song is the First and the Last and He will stand on that latter day upon the earth. Heaven’s song is interceding day and night for our family as we learn to walk through this life without Ajay. Heaven’s song is Jesus, our salvation, and our everlasting song. Heaven’s song is heard as Ajay still tells the world how good God is through the testimony of his life. 

Ajay laid out the path to everlasting life through each step that he took on this earth. He has entered the gates of heaven with praise and he is now resting in the arms of Heaven’s song. Ajay has touched so many lives because he loved with all his heart. Love is a powerful thing. Love is who God is. Ajay loved well because he had the love of God deep in his soul. 

I am so thankful to have had the privilege of loving this precious boy and for the beautiful testimony of the love of Jesus that his life displayed. We have peace in knowing where he is, but his presence is deeply missed by all who knew him. He is gone from this earth, but he is forever in the arms of Jesus. If Ajay could step down from the beauty of heaven right now, He would tell us to choose Jesus as he did.

A scholarship fund has been created in Ajay's honor. This scholarship seeks to honor individuals who, like Ajay, exhibit unwavering faith in their daily lives, have a love for music and contribute positively to their communities, schools, and beyond.
