When the Secret Place Feels Silent in a Dry Season
Dear sister, have you ever walked into your prayer space, sat down, and stared at your prayer wall for what seemed like hours with no progress? Are you in this season, this dry barren land, right now? I know this feeling all too well. A chaos of clatter in your mind, yet the secret place feels silent. Moments when you long so badly to reach out and touch the hem of His garment, but instead you have what feels like a thousand marbles bouncing off each other, going all the wrong directions.

“How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?” Psalm 13:1
Spiritual Distraction and the Battle for Our Minds
This is exactly where the devil wants us to be. He wants us filled with the world, especially our minds. It does not even have to be bad things per se, just busy things. He wants the noise to ring louder than the beat of heaven in our hearts. After all, there is not much he has to do himself if we keep ourselves distracted.
Why Women Walk Away from the Secret Place
This is the point when a lot of women give up and walk away from the secret place. Sister, please do not stay away. Turn around, go back, and stay longer each time. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking on heaven’s door. I walked away too. Do not be ashamed, and do not let the devil tell you there is no use returning. He told me that too. The truth is, he knows you are unstoppable when you really start believing.
The Power of Prayer and Authority in Jesus’ Name
He does not want you to realize the power you wield in Jesus’ name. You are the daughter of THE KING. You are of a royal priesthood. You have direct access to your heavenly Father. Do not waste another moment in defeat. Pick your armor up and report for duty. Your family needs you. Your sisters need you.
Encouragement for Women Walking Through a Silent Season
I have walked this path. I am walking it with you. It is not easy, but remember, you are blessed and highly favored in God’s eyes. You are in my prayers.

A Prayer for the Woman Whose Secret Place Feels Silent
Father, I pray You cast Your covering over this dear sister today. Send strength, encouragement, hope, and provision. You see the struggle she is in, the battles she faces each day. Draw her unto Thee and fill her with Your presence. Less of us, more of You. Thank You, Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
If this post spoke to your heart and you’d like to press deeper in your prayer life, I’d love to invite you to explore Book One of my devotional series, His Name Is Jesus. It was written through the trials and struggles God used to shape my own journey of prayer. My prayer is that its words draw you closer to Him and remind you that everything God touches becomes beautiful.
